Impact

The White Rose Foundation, Inc. has awarded grants to more than 30 mission-aligned nonprofit organizations since 2007. The organization also supports and provides funding to the Denver (CO) Chapter of The Links, Inc. and its programming areas: The Arts, Health and Human Services, International Trends and Services, National Trends and Services, and Services to Youth.

Higher Learning U

The African American/Black Young Ladies' Summit Program (AAYLS) is a holistic village practice that values, empowers, and equips young women with the tools they will need for a lifelong journey of personal success and achievement. The summit will host 30-50 young ladies, ranging from 3rd grade to college, and focus on the following: academic scholarship (present & future) overcoming racial barriers in society, school, and in life, afro-beauty (beauty, fashion and history), community engagement, financial stability, belonging, health and connecting leadership, self-worth and confidence. 

CABPES

The Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES) is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging African-Americans and other underrepresented youth to pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. By doing so, the number of minority STEM professionals will increase to the level that better represents the minority population while assisting the industry in meeting the growing demand for STEM professionals. The organization’s signature programs include: Junior Engineers, Tomorrow’s Scientists (JETS), Math Enrichment Program (MEP) tutoring and skills development, and a Summer Math Boot Camp (SMBC) for 5-12 graders and SAT/ACT College Preparatory Program.

Denver (CO) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

Early Childhood Reading

In partnership with BookTrust, Park Hill United Methodist Church, Denver Chapter Jack & Jill teens, and other community reading volunteers, the Denver Links Chapter delivered one-on-one reading interactions, art projects and books for home libraries to the ECA-Kindergarten students at Hallett Academy.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the program shifted from face-to-face to virtual. The Denver Jack and Jill teen volunteer readers created videos of their book readings. The Hallett Academy ECE and kindergarten teachers included the videos in their weekly newsletters to students.

Girl Fierce: Being Safe, Smart and Strong!

Girl Fierce is a community education event for young girls of color, grades 5 - 8. In 2019, the Denver Chapter hosted its first Girl Fierce event with a focus on raising awarenes about human trafficking. The event included information and fun engagement on topics including cyber safety, social media management, self-awareness. The goal was to strengthen the self-esteem and safety skills of young girls in order to reduce their vulnerability to predatory practices.

Helping Hands 2 Haiti

With support from the Denver Chapter, the International Trends and Services facey partnered with the Harbor Area (CA) Chapter of The Links, Inc. to send the Camp Perrin School in Haiti shoes, socks and undergarments.


$1,250 donated in clothes and shoes for students in Haiti


Volunteers of America

Irving Street Women’s Residence is a residential and support program designed to serve chronically homeless women, women who are disabled and/or experiencing mental health issues. Irving Street is Colorado’s only HUD defined Safe Haven, and by design is meant to serve the hardest to reach and the most vulnerable of populations.

Denver Chapter Links supported the Mother’s Day in December event by giving gift baskets to the residents.

Supporting Hurricane Relief

Led by the International Trends and Services facet, the Denver Chapter supported the Nassau, Bahamas Chapter's relief efforts after Hurricane Dorian with cash and in-kinds donations for women in Haiti.
